Pendulum
by Joel Abernathy
Torn between brothers, torn between worlds.
All I wanted was a fresh start when I left my abusive ex-boyfriend behind in Austin. What I got? A den of wolves.
No, I mean literal wolves—moon worship, fangs and all.
Sebastian and Victor? One’s troubled and dangerous, the other’s as overprotective as he is overpowered, and they’re both alpha males. Speaking of alphas, each of them thinks I’m his “fleur.” Which I’m guessing is another term for “omega.”
If I wanted anything to do with the wolf pack or its super-exclusive “gentleman’s club,” I’d be flattered that the twins are fighting over me like a scrap of meat, but I’m not that kind of guy no matter what they insist I am and there’s nothing gentlemanly about the wolves who run the Lodge.
Problem is, they’re not the only ones who are after me. Keeping the wolves at bay is hard enough, but when a vampire from my past comes calling, I’ll have to choose sides—and a mate—just to survive.

Kingdom of Night #1
Equal parts Suspenseful, Seductive, and Scintillating! 💋
An absolute must read for anyone who wants to fall into a world where werewolves are dangerous and wild, and vampires are so dark their pull might just be deemed, “demonic.” Where humans are as oblivious as always, and the pages are so enchanted, they practically turn themselves.
Sometimes it’s hard to know who is the hero and who is the villain. Just who is the hunter and who the prey? One second, you are cheering for one character and the next you want to smack him/ them/ her, in the head. **sigh… However, isn’t that part of the charm of most good stories?
Communication is not very high on the list with any of these guys, because they each feel they must keep the others safe. I cannot tell you the times I grumbled and growled out loud because of miscommunication or the simple lack of communication at all. These guys needed a den mother very very badly. Hahahaaa… I must stress however, I did love each of the characters Abernathy created. You could envision each one as you immersed yourself in their world. I know for me, I wanted to erase the trauma from the past and hold each one of the main MCs close to ensure they were safe for the future. What can I say, I am a momma-hen at heart, don’t judge.
As the story unfolds it centers around a young man, Remus, and we learn at the outset that he has left his old life behind and that of a traumatic past with an ex-boyfriend. Memories are very important in this story, and Abernathy weaves them beautifully throughout, so the reader is able to see and understand the importance of Remus in the lives of Sebastian and Victor.
Joel Abernathy has created a dark and suspenseful world filled with enough tantalizing beasts to fulfill all our fantasies adding just enough erotic passion to sink our teeth in and keep us begging for more. Mmm… Yumm… 💋💗💋
