Liminality

Kingdom of Night #2

by Joel Abernathy

Half vampire, half werewolf, 100% hot mess.

Blurb from GoodReads: That’s been my life ever since I came to the Lodge, and with an army of undead hunters on my tail, it’s only getting more complicated from here.

Throw in the fact that not one but two alpha shifters imprinted on me and I’m split right down the middle. Oh, and did I mention they’re twins?

Yeah. Surviving the hunters and my traitorous BFF is becoming the least of my worries. If I can’t figure out which brother my heart belongs to, I’m not even going to survive my first shift.

This is the second book in the Kingdom of Night series. It cannot be read as a standalone and ends on a cliffhanger. See inside cover for content warnings.

An MMM Romantic Fantasy.

“It’s better to relive all those years of pain as a whole person than to wake up one day and realize you’ve lost yourself.”

I wanna preface this review by saying two things: 1- This series SHOULD be read in order. If you like head scratchin and sayin’, “What the fuck,” a lot more than the author intends, then by ALL means read it any way you like. 2- IF for some crazy reason you have NOT begun this series yet, picture me scratchin’ my wild head of frizzy gray witchy hair at you yellin’, “WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?” Bwahahahahaaaa… Okay… proceed!

Howlin’ Good! 🐺

When I finished this one, I actually ranted at my kindle. Like the author could me, right? That ending though! Just, Damn! **sigh… 😱 Thank the Goddess the next book is out already or I would be pulling all my hair out! Can’t bite my nails… Lost all those suckers by chapter four. Sheesh!

I will say, in the first book, Pendulum I stayed completely frustrated with Remus for probably about 70% of the story. My frustration with all three of the guys flipped back and forth so many times in book one, I nearly had whiplash.

This go round in book two, Liminality, the frustrations were still there, though not as severe. I was so glad to see that Remus was doing his best with so many different situations being flung at him and things changing so drastically, often with little to no warning. Embracing his dual-sides, his place in the pack (present & future), along with those temperamental wolfie twins, Sebastian and Viktor, I felt Remus had grown as a character. I liked watching that and hope it carries over to book three.

This series is right up there with the best of the best, to me. The Story line is imaginative, funny, action packed, gruesome, and filled with delectable MM sexy goodness. Joel makes the shifter world something terrifying and fantastical. I would love to find my way into this world of misfits. I would totally fit right in.

Can’t wait to sink my teeth into book three! 😍
