Phew! What a ride! What the heck am I supposed to do now that I have finished this series?!?!? 😭😭😭😭

Andrei, wild child, quite literally, when you consider the fact that he was found in the woods by Vasil when he was very young, vulnerable and in his wolf form (which was rare for one so young). 🐾

When Jack first came to the pack, he fell in love with the pup and he and Nicolae took Andrei in, adopted him, and raised him as their own. 👣

Even having all the love and support of family, Andrei still felt like an outsider and still struggled with controlling his beast. As a young teen he was shocked and awed when a boy about his age stumbled upon him after his latest kill, and the boy seemed more intrigued than afraid.

Being raised the way he had been, Mihail had very little in his life that brought him peace, or pleasure. Andrei was his forbidden delight. If anyone ever knew, especially his family the consequences would be grave for Andrei, his family, and possibly Mihail. 

We stared at each other for a moment that lasted too long, and I saw myself reflected in the nothingness of his gaze. Even for a werewolf, he was grotesque. Monstrous. And beautiful.

If Andrei knew his secret, the same consequences would result. However, Mihail would keep things hidden for as long as he could, knowing someday it would all be over, while praying that day would never come.

I am so glad I began the series with book one, instead of just reading The ARC I was given for book three. Getting to know Andrei from the beginning, as a small child/ wolf pup helped give insight along the way. While book three does go back and give all pertinent information regarding his journey, it was nice to take that journey with him through the eyes of his parents, siblings, and other members of his pack. It gave other dimensions to his character from their perspective.

While we only learn of Mihail in book three, his journey and who he is, his “how he came to be,” and the importance of his role not just in Andrei’s life but their families’ (both Andrei’s & Mihail’s) begins in book one as well.

That whole, six degrees of separation and the circle of life thing totally applies. 😁 Go on, sing the song, I know you want to. **giggle...

ANYWAY… Our MCs in book three go through many evolutionary cycles, from puberty to adulthood. They often struggle to survive, literally. Through every evolution however they each hold on to just enough of their soul to get them through the next phase, until finally each reaches the end of themselves to achieve, fulfillment/ enlightenment/ self-actualization. It is really quite compelling to look at a romance as more than a simple romance. Joel Abernathy never ceases to amaze me. 💕

This series will be one I read and re-read many times. If you are looking for a shifter series with fluff, look elsewhere. If, however you want a series with substance to sink your teeth in; one filled with classic style and modern romance to set your soul on fire that promises to stay with you long after the story ends, you’ve found it! 😍

Maybe I wasn’t a typical wolf, but I wasn’t a typical hunter, either. We belonged to both of those worlds, and fully to neither. Fully to no one and nothing but each other.
