by Charlie Cochet (Goodreads Author) 3.85 · Rating details · 507 ratings · 125 reviewsRein Dear is a prestigious title, accompanied by admiration, devotion, and celebrity status, all of which one saucy Vixen thrives on. Alas, Vixen’s only concerned with having fun, unlike his stuffy and sensible best friend, Rudy Rein Dear, who Vixen has always been jealous of. Aside from being chosen by Mayor Kringle to be Captain the Rein Dear Squadron, Rudy’s managed to snag himself a prince, even if that prince is the dangerous and imposing Jack Frost.
All’s not lost for Vixen though. He discovers Jack’s cousin Vale has a soft spot for him. Vale Frost might not be a dashing prince, but he’s the next best thing: a decorated Lieutenant for the Toy Soldier Army, and a member of the Frost monarchy.
Determined to get what Vixen feels he deserves, he sets off on a mission to ensnare the kind-hearted lieutenant. But Vixen’s selfish ways are sure to lead to disaster, and it’ll take more than a little courage to set things right.
MMY Thoughts and Review:
Ahhh… Vale and Vixen, a match made in North Pole City Tales Book #3. It’s the time of year when all the Rein Dear brothers are gearing up and buckling down on their Big Flight training. One last hoorah for party elf, Vixen before all the rules, regulations, and Rudy (Vixen’s BEF – Best Elf Forever) lectures kick in. 😂
All Vixen has ever dreamed of is being found worthy, and lovely. He gets that…but only in the form of hookups with Toy Soldiers and the like. Sure it fills the hole left by past hurt and neglect, but not in the same way he imagined being swept off his feet when he was an elfling. He always dreamed of a Prince…his Prince…one made just for him.
Lieutenant Vale, cousin to Prince Jack, has been smitten with Vixen for ages. He finally admits his desire to his family and to Vixen, and the couple begin a courtship. Soon the two are discovering there is more to the other than what’s on the surface.
One unfortunate incident in a pub turns disastrous for Vixen, and Vale takes the responsibility upon his shoulders. Because of one elf’s actions another is stripped of his family, rank, and reputation.
The true enemy has such a dastardly plan worked out, that if he succeeds, not only will the couple be destroyed, but potentially the kingdom and maybe even the world.
