“Chance brought us together, fate bonded us for life.”
I knew there was something wrong with my latest job.
When I finally manage to hack into the system I’m supposed to protect, I don’t just find out my current employers are assassins, I also find their next target.
I can’t help that I look for my one true mate at every corner. It’s what familiars are supposed to do.
But when my fated mate finds me, not only is he not a witch but a mortal, he also brings the cavalry of witch hunters with him and now I have to explain the paranormal world to Troy, my handsome human, and save us both from certain death.
Warning: This short story contains a hot ginger fox, a nerdy hunky hacker, a lot of spells, fated mates and one hell of a ride.
MMy Thoughts and Review:
Troy & Easton
This was the perfect way to wade into the paranormal waters of the Blade and Dust series. In this world are all manner of nightcrawlers/ familiars (shifters), witches, vampires, witch hunters, and of course the mundane (boring humans).
Here we meet Troy who hacks his bosses network and sees there is a “terminate” sign slapped across some hottie’ s picture. So, he puts his hacker skills to work and hunts down the guy to save him.
From there this world Rhys has brought to life explodes with action, snarkiness, and sMMexy goodness to keep you sated…for a few hours at least. Then, you have to grab the next book, Killer Heart.
I have just finished book #1, and I am ready to gobble up book #2. It isn’t a must to read Foxy Heart first, but it did give me a good day of the land. The really cool part is it’s a free read. Can’t beat that, right?
