Blurb:

One hundred years ago, a sheriff’s posse killed dark warlock Rhyfel Gremory, but his witch-disciples escaped, and their magic made them nearly immortal. To keep their power, each year one of the witch-disciples kills a descendant of one of the men in the posse, a twelve-year cycle that has cost dozens of lives, including that of Seth Tanner’s brother, Jesse.

Seth Tanner uncovers the cycle of ritual killings that feeds the power of the witch-disciples, and he’s hell bent on getting vengeance for Jesse and stopping the murders. His fledgling romantic relationship with Evan Malone complicates his mission, but Seth can’t walk away. Seth and Evan are learning to navigate their partnership—as lovers and monster hunters—while they chase down the next witch-disciple and avoid attracting the wrong kind of attention.

When the hunt takes Seth and Evan to Pittsburgh on the trail of the next killer, they’ll have to save the intended victim and take down the powerful witch. If the skills they possess and the bond between them isn’t enough, the evil will remain unchallenged, and more people will die…

MMy Thoughts and Review:

Seth and Evan are hot on the trail of the next witch disciple. As Seth gets info from a local private investigator about the area, Evan works the angle of trying to locate who they believe the next victim is going to be. Trying to get as much Intel as possible, the guys believe they will be prepared when Samhain rolls around next year.

With Christmas drawing near, Seth and Evan plan to focus a little on themselves as a couple, since they’ve both been alone for quite a few Holiday seasons. They are growing closer as they learn more and more about each other and in so doing trust and lean on each other more. It happens this is very good because the evil the guys think they are hunting actually has them in its sights.

Turns out Seth and Evan are going to need each other more than ever.

This story was fanfreakintastic! It was non-stop from beginning to end. I was thrilled with the secondary cast, and hope they make appearances again. The bad guys were really bad in this one and my guts hurt and heart broke for sweet Evan, but that is all I’m saying about that. I loved that the spirits weren’t just part of the peanut gallery, or passive-aggressive “caspers,” but played very active roles in how things went down in the end.

Kale Williams as always did an excellent job bringing the book alive for me.
I am off to read book four. Woohoo!👻
