A Dark Folklore Anthology for Save the Children
Blurb
Some stories paint us sweet, told to children as they fall asleep.
Mother Earth she weaves the world with a whirl of her magic, and her kind embrace shapes us all. Father Time keeps us all, ever constant, ever moving onwards, for time never stands still.
Icy hands and a frozen touch, Jack Frost ushers in the cold snap, coating the earth with sparkly delights. If Jack brings cold, May Queen brings warmth, her delicate touch bringing forth the spring. Follow the rainbow and maybe you’ll find, a Leprechaun with his lucky pot of gold.
The watchful eyes of Man in the Moon keeps all of the secrets of the night, shining down on us with his silvery light. The Sandman is here to soothe you to sleep, bringing all to slumber with a pinch of magic dust.
Shhh, sleep now. Beware the Boogeyman lurking out of sight, waiting under your bed, to catch naughty children in the night.
Be good little children, for Santa is watching, and he knows if you’ve been naughty or nice.
Tales of lore, fair music to our ears. Can you hear it? Did you know? Not every tale is sweet. The truth is darker, our stories more twisted, unlike the rhymes that children hear.
All proceeds will be donated to Save the Children.
This is a mixed M/F and M/M anthology that contains trigger warnings for its dark content.
It is intended for a mature audience of 18+.

Tainted Tales MM STORIES:
MMy Thoughts and Review
Black Ice Heart by Abrianna Denae
WOW! What a great way to kick off a dark anthology! This was such a clever and entertaining twist on an old tale. The Jack Frost we all love and sing about “nipping at our noses,” in winter is seen as an abomination by his mother and sisters.
Once a few centuries ago he was sent to wreak havoc in the form of a terrible blizzard. As he was fulfilling this duty for his overbearing mother, he noticed a woman trapped, and saved her. That event caused a snowball effect that would last for generations even into the present day. Jack has paid for that crime for two hundred years…it seems he may not have learned his lesson.
**The author has promised more of the gallant Jack and the newest man to catch his eye, coming in early 2021.

Tooth Fairy Lies by Emma Jaye
HOLY DENTAL DAMS, BATMAN!
One twisted tale that leaves you squealing for more. A young English doctor on a visit to the States witnesses an assault. As the criminal departs he warns the doctor to walk away and say and do nothing. Because of his oath and human decency, he doesn’t take the warning seriously.
Big mistake…HUGE!
This shortie will keep you guessing til the end.
Be warned, however, this one comes with morally ambiguous characters, non-con and dub-con scenes, and a smidge of violence.

Deadlock Time Clock by Leigh Kenzie
This story was out there and reminded me of old creepy Twilight Zone episodes. You have to mind what you say about time, or it could cost you…greatly. Father-Time isn’t this aged wise man, but rather an odd kind of psycho-path who never ages past his 20s, dresses like a normal guy in his 20s, but laughs as he tortures people literally to death. His best friend…his only friend in this weird realm of clocks and giant hourglasses that he traps people in, the Grim Reaper, will then take the dead people away, to wherever it is they go.
For years this is his life until a young vivacious Latino enters his realm and with his passion for life and his strength and courage, Father-Time finds he cannot kill the young man. From here until the end things tend to get even scarier, but amidst the darkness, there is still light, beauty, compassion, and love.
Even though this one was tough because it was filled with abandonment, family drama, murder, homophobia, and other dark elements, there were deep-rooted moral lessons and I dug that with a big shovel!

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping by Sara Dobie Bauer
In the last week I have read two short stories and one novel by SDB. I think it is safe to say, I am either officially a fan of her work, or I am book stalking her. Either way, I think it means the same thing…I enjoy her stories A LOT!
This shortie was like some weird version of “Groundhog Day” on crack! Only with a Christmas theme. I mean, I have NEVER heard of a Santa story where some chick in black robes goes around with Santa delivering gifts. Creepy! Then, Santa losing time and coming to rescue a boy who has turned into a man because 15 years have passed. We got Rip Van Santa happenin’ and that creep factor is spikin’! Santa rescues guy AGAIN, then goes all PULP FICTION on some baddies, hides in shadows while he watches the guy he keeps rescuin’ get it on. Did I mention Creepy?!?!
Oh…Mya…Angelou… This is one creepy Mc Creeperton you gotta read and then save for the holidays to read again creepy! Yup! That’s the one!4.00 read-it-to-believe-it-stars🌟🌟🌟🌟
Don’t Mess with Mother Nature by T.S. McKinney (M/M/M)
Oookay! Gotta say this one cracked me up! You have Mother Nature (Gaia) and she is looking out for one of her children. He’s an erotic romance writer, but he has none in his own life. She has tried and failed to set him on a path, so he would be able to find a perfect mate for his hidden passions, but he has managed to blindly dodge each one. It takes a sports car, a blizzard, a Daddy and his brat…I mean boy and a beautifully warm lodge tucked away on a mountain to get the man to see what it is the great goddess has been trying to show him for ages.
T.S. McKinney, an all-male throuple, and my patron Goddess…The perfect way to end this delightful anthology! Delicious YuMMiness!4.50🌟🌟🌟🌟•🌟
