Rule #1: Keep running.
Jag’s rules have kept him safe and free since he escaped conversion therapy, but that was before he walked into Heaven and Hell. A no-strings fling with the club owner, Michael, turns into so much more as Jag finds himself breaking one rule after another.
Michael hasn’t been able to commit to anyone since his partner died, until Jag walks into his club. Falling in lust with the elfin young dancer is easy, and his heart is quick to follow.
Michael gives Jag a reason to stay, but fear rules Jag’s heart more than love. Despite his deepening feelings for Michael, Jag knows he can’t stay. Can he?

Broken: Heaven and Hell Book #1
MMy Thoughts Confessions and Review:
Grief… It comes in many forms. Loss of a loved one, loss of self, loss of control, loss of peace of mind. All these losses are valid, and all can incite grief in one form or another. Because we are emotional beings we deal with these losses in a million different ways.
For twenty-year-old Jag, who had his youth, sense of self, and self-worth ripped from him and crucified in front of his very eyes he trusts NO ONE! He has become a wandering spirit in an abandoned house who manages to conjure enough energy once in a while to cause the house lights to flicker so passersby will see someone is still inside the house.
It isn’t until Jag wanders into the dance and strip club, “Heaven and Hell” that things begin to change for the lost young soul.
Michael, owner of Heaven and Hell is awestruck by the beauty filling his club as the young man flips, twirls, and works the pole on his stage in the middle of his club, as he auditions for a place among Michael’s other dancers. While Michael can see how haunted and closed off Jag is, he is also drawn to the spark exuding from the young man’s soul. He hasn’t felt a pull like this in the many years since he lost his partner and the love of his life. Michael couldn’t ignore his draw to Jag anymore than a moth could to a flame, even knowing it may mean getting hurt in the end.
Hurt-Comfort themes are one of my favorites because they are filled with healing, compassion, and tons, and tons of love. However, when that theme encompasses both MCs it can be a slippery slope because it can come off feeling like an emotional game of tug-of-war to see who has/ had it worse and therefore needs the most comfort. No need for worrying over that here though, because Colette created a beautiful waltz rather than a tug of war and the only thing that changed was, depending on the need, who led the waltz. At times Michael needed to lead, and at others, it needed to be Jag who led for Michael. What made their waltz so beautiful and captivating for the reader was their chemistry, making their change in who would lead a seamless exchange.
I loved these characters, and I just wanted to wrap Jag in my arms and hug and kiss him and tell him he was wonderful and perfect just the way he was. The mark of an awesome author who can stir those kinds of feelings in this old momma’s heart. The cast in the book is small, but the ones in the story are larger than life. I appreciated just how fleshed out each one was, and even more so through the audio which brought an extra dimension to each character. The pace was steady and never lagged. I thought the story ended nicely and I am anxious to start the next book.

Can Jared build a future when he’s forgotten his past?
Jared is determined to make the most of his second chance at life.
A passionate one-night-stand with a cocky pole dancer leaves him wanting more, but will the truth of his past work against him?
Can Kyrone help Jared to come to terms with his injuries, solve some of the mysteries of his past and deal with what it really means to forget ones past?
Forgotten is the second book in the Heaven and Hell Club series. It’s a hurt/comfort romance, with two men who need to learn to be true to themselves. It can be read as a standalone, but works better if read after Broken.

MMy Thoughts and Review:
I have a very dear friend who swears by the adage, “Everything happens for a reason.” I have to say, after reading/listening to FORGOTTEN, I agree… at least in the case of Adonis and his artist.
Kyrone is a laid back and smooth operator when it comes to getting what or who he wants. He works in a night club as an exotic dancer and attends classes at a local University where he is working on his business degree.
Jared is apprenticing at a tattoo shop, working to find some sense of “normal” in his not so normal life. After a traumatic and tragic accident that stripped Jared of his memory, he left home and decided to make a new start for himself.
Kyrone walks into the tattoo shop one day wanting some new ink and finds himself drawn to the beautiful man. After some small talk Kyrone is intrigued beyond reason and the two men after a one-nighter, on Jared’s terms, and after a little of that “smooth operating” from Kyrone start seeing each other.

This is one of the sweetest and most tragic romances I think I have ever read. I fell head over heels in love with Kyrone. He was such a gentle soul when taking care of Jared. If this had been a shifter romance he would have totally been a wolf. There was quite a bit of hurt/ comfort because of the trauma Jared had been through.
This story can be read as a standalone. I, however, recommend you read BROKEN first. There is a link between the two stories that goes beyond the nightclub. It made me glad I read the first book. You won’t be lost by not reading it, but I believe you will enjoy it more.
Colette has outdone herself with this one. Kyrone and Jared have carved out a piece of my heart so they can live in it forever. Thanks, Colette.💖

No, thank you dear lady. I thought Michael and Jag were absolutely amazing. Then, you introduced me to Jared and Kyrone and they are STILL very much a huge part of my thought life. I think it has a lot to do with relating to Jared and his disability, and loving that he found a beautiful person to love him unconditionally.💗
So, as I stated in my review, they will live in my heart forever. Thanks for bringing them to life.💐
